Who’s writing these things?

I think we’ve out sourced blog writing to third world countries. I just searched a topic on WordPress and read through about four or five different blog posts. The writing is horrific. A string of “almost sentences” with mis-used big words in an attempt to sound educated.
……….Blech.
Better to have a neglected blog, (like mine) than one written by someone who doesn’t speak the language.

I’m not suggesting that I’m anywhere near perfect…. Or that anything I post has any value to the reader! But, I hope that anyone who might read this won’t have to go over each sentence three times just to understand it.

Recording Notes to Self with Google Voice

I messed with this in the early days of Google Voice, but I’m just beginning to appreciate it. It takes a little messing with the settings to get it just right, but I think this is a slick productivity solution. Not just getting voicemail transcribed and emailed (or texted) but to use the service to record text notes for archiving or pasting into another app.

I’m working on some “sales hacker” tips for a project, while we don’t yet have any voice integration with our current (Siebel) CRM, or even a calendar integrated with the rep’s (Blackberry) handhelds…  This could save time for guys who are running through their day, in and out of trucks, and don’t get a chance to log every call, or quote. It’s a little clunky, but pasting the text into the CRM from their email or right out of their GV inbox, once they get to a stopping point, will save some time and collect some of what’s getting missed.  I played around with Jott.com, reqall.com and there are things I like about them, but there’s something I like about “free” better.  Next is to figure out “reminders”…  I’m thinking Google needs a voice driven option to bounce memos to a calendar date, with a reminder… Can I have that….Or am I missing something?

Lifehacker was on this from the beginning, but apparently I wasn’t listening.

Check out this post for some setup details…   Ideas from Mark Stout

Sewzanne and Shauna Meet Gokey! or "Cougars for Gokey!"

Suzanne has been after Danny Gokey since she first saw him on Idol.  He is pretty awesome.  They have the young widow thing in common.  When she heard that Froggy was having a small lunch performance that they were doing a drawing to select all the ticket winners, she was bummed, sure that she had no chance.

Then her buddy Shauna won and asked her to come along! She was giddy like a 12 year old girl…  It’s funny her friend Heather from Boston is the same way about Gokey (and Chris Allen too)… She got her picture with both of them. (stalker!).  Anyway it’s funny watching these fans compete for their Idol’s attention.

So, if I get all “goo-goo ga-ga” over Siobhan Magnus, do you think that would go over well?  Nah… I’d be a creep.  Interesting double standard. (She’s quirky cute, though.)
